March 1 - 3

Born in Kham in eastern Tibet, Terton Sogyal was a previous incarnation of Sogyal Rinpoche, author of The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying. Terton Sogyal was thirty years old when visions of dakini scriptures appeared in the sight of his rifle, prompting him to renounce hunting and banditry to practice dharma. A disciple of Jamyang Khyestse Wangpo and Mipham Rinpoche, he revealed several cycles of termas, including the Tendrel Nyesel, a practice which reverses inauspicious interdependence and dissipates inauspicious happenings. In our efforts to practice dharma and benefit others, the occurrence of inauspicious outer, inner and secret interdependence can create obstacles. The profound practice of Tendrel Nyesel can help reverse such inauspicious interdependence, clearing the way to a direct path of limitless benefit.
Lama Shenpen will lead a three-day intensive practice of this terma. The retreat will take place during the first fifteen days of the Tibetan lunar calendar, during which time the Buddha displayed a different miracle each day for the benefit of dharma practitioners. Due to the power of the Buddha’s blessing, all virtue is multiplied 100,000 times during this period. The retreat will culminate on the fifteenth day of the first month, on the occasion of a lunar eclipse, at which time the power of practice will be multiplied over 10 million times. This is a marvelous opportunity to join with others in creating great virtue which we dedicate to specific beings in need with whom we have direct connection, as well as for the short and long term benefit of all beings. Please join us as we pray for the increase of goodness and auspiciousness in the Tibetan new year.
If you are not able to join us for some or all of this retreat, you may participate by sending offerings for tsog and/or butterlamps. Please email events@ironknot.org about your offering, including your particular dedication, so we can be sure to include it during our practice sessions. Then, send your offering to:
