It would be difficult to even catalogue the upheavals and uncertainty arising in this moment. We have truly entered a strange and dark wood….not only as individuals, but collectively, as inhabitants of a world spinning wildly out of balance. It is bewildering all around.
As unsettling as the times may be, for those who harbor a fondness for Buddhist teachings, the opportunities far exceed the adversity. Unlike poor Hansel and Gretel whose breadcrumbs were eaten in the night, the trail left by the masters is perfectly intact and leads infallibly out of and beyond the Forest of Misperception.
The breadcrumbs of the Dharma are literally unconcealed jewels ready to be taken up, examined, and applied. One jewel leads to the next with the great irony of never going anywhere while leaving confusion far behind. How can this be?
